LONDOLOZI CANOE

The Lozi tribe, found in Zambia, hold an annual celebration known as the Kuomboka. The traditional ceremony is held to mark the movement of the king to higher ground at the beginning of the rains. It's a time of great celebration, and the the ceremony is conducted to the pounding of drums, while the paddlers, resplendent in animal skins, dance and sing. These canoes play a pivitol role in this ceremony as well as in the day-to-day lives of the Lozi tribe during the rainy season. Due to the nature of production methods and the use of natural materials, each product may vary slightly in both dimensions and coloring - we believe that these natural variations enhance the authenticity of each item.
